Generally speaking, approximately 95% of women will continue to have menstrual periods after Uterine Fibroid Embolization (UFE). Roughly 5% of women in one study did enter menopause after UFE, but the reason for this is unclear.
When will I get my period after UFE?
The first menstrual cycle after UFE is normally heavier than normal and there may be some breakthrough bleeding between cycles within the first few weeks. However, as time passes, patients will start to see a difference.
