What is UTMB race?
The Ultra Trail du Mont Blanc, also known as the UTMB is the most expected trail-running event for trail-runners from all over the world. Each year, at the end of August, the elite of the trail-running world, almost 8000 runners, come to Chamonix Mont-Blanc to participate in one of the event’s races.
Do running stones expire?
Running Stones don’t expire (unless you use them to enter the lottery and you are selected).
What pace do ultra marathon runners run at?
Because ultrarunning includes all distances longer than a marathon, there is a huge variety of different races. For this reason, we’ll be comparing average paces. In general, the average pace of ultra runners has increased from 11:35 min/mile to 13:16 min/mile (15%).
How do you train for an ultramarathon?

The first two months of training, simply focus on building up mileage with easy runs and long runs. About four months from race day, add in one hill workout per week and one interval or tempo run per week.
What is a UTMB Qualifier?
UTMB Qualifying Points Runners who haven’t collected Running Stones can enter the lottery if they have the required number of qualifying points from no more than two races.
