Sanofi-aventis is reducing its range of insulin pens in December 2011 to the following two: SoloSTAR (pre-filled) and ClikSTAR (re-usable). The others, including Opticlik, Optiset, Optipen Pro 1, Autopen 24*, will be discontinued.

What is the Allstar Pro Pen?
Sanofi has developed the AllStar PRO, a reusable insulin pen for use with Lantus (insulin glargine 100 units/mL) and Apidra (insulin glulisine) cartridges. It replaces the longstanding ClikSTAR pen. The AllStar PRO has the same functionality as ClikSTAR, enabling a smooth transition to the new pen.
