In order to maintain certification with the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) PAs must:

1. Take a recertification exam every 10 years.
2. Earn 100 CME credits every two years, including at least 50 Category 1 CME credits.
3. Pay a certification maintenance fee to NCCPA every two years.
